The phenomenon of "Rainbow Fire" Caught on Camera

Rare phenomenon caught on camera in the sky of South Florida on Tuesday (31/7). A cloud-called fire rainbows or "fire rainbow" look stunning and city in the sky.

Reported by MSN, Friday (08/03/2012), called a "fire rainbow", the cloud is not exactly a rainbow or anyway not in a state of burning. Technically, the researchers explain that the phenomenon is a cloud that appear colorful.

According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), a rare phenomenon was caused by a cloud of water droplets of nearly uniform size. This cloud outlines or bend light in the same manner and to separate light into wavelengths, or colors are different.

The cloud was also similar to the mechanism of the rainbow that secrete a variety of different colors, which are formed by diffraction. Then, generate the pattern of oscillation (movement in any direction), and display colors, from blue to green, red to purple and back to blue.

Although the "fire rainbow" has a color resembling the rainbow, but the constituent has a different mechanism. In the rainbow, are formed by refraction and reflection.

When light is refracted, the light been turned through the medium of different densities such as water or a prism. Reflected light, bouncing off the surface at an angle equal to the angle that hit the surface.

Like the other colorful objects, such as peacock feathers, the color changes depending on one's position towards the sun and the object. Iridescence usually occurs in the newly formed clouds.

According to the Weather Channel, is caused by the storm clouds that grow quickly. Push air into the upper atmosphere through a layer of moisture. This will create a cloud-like fog, like a glowing dome (dome sparkling).
